Installation Services

Installation services are offered by expert SANRAD channel partners or SANRAD.

SANRAD installation services provide a comprehensive set of remote and on-site installation services for V-Switch solutions to ensure a successful deployment. These include external quality inspection, basic and advanced V-Switch installation and orientation training.


Standard Installation

A Standard V-Switch installation includes pre-installation planning. Together we complete a site survey and jointly plan deployment to ensure best results. You will then be provided with an installation check list before we show up on site.

The Standard installation includes methodological installation steps:

  • Unpack and physically place and secure all the SANRAD equipment.
  • Make all necessary electrical connections.
  • Initialize the V-Switch; assign a management IP address and name.
  • Confirm that the V-Switch is communicating with SANRAD user interface.
  • Confirm that the V-Switch is able to connect to the storage systems (all LUNs shall be visible).
  • Confirm that the V-Switch can define a test volume.
  • Confirm that the V-Switch test volume can be mounted by the SANRAD diagnostic system.
  • Run SANRAD diagnostic routines and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Review the SANRAD Quick Start manual with the end-user.
  • Certify that the V-Switch is in good operating condition and successfully completes all diagnostic routines.
  • Obtain end-user confirmation of completed installation.


Advanced Installation

  • All basic installations components plus
  • Connection of additional servers and storage beyond what is specified in Basic Installation.
  • V-Switch Cluster Configuration.
  • Failover and Fail-back Testing and Validation.
  • Server performance optimization.
  • Storage system configuration and optimization.
  • Any items outside the scope of Basic Installation.


Disaster Recovery

We offer a complete Disaster Recovery installation solution, which includes:

  • Interactive planning and preparation by the SANRAD Technical Support team, where we identify you recovery goals and decide on the right architecture.
  • Validate installation check list.
  • Onsite set up and installation (see ADVANCED installation).
  • Onsite training.
  • Secondary site deployment validation and support.
SANRAD recommends that customers with high-availability solutions such as V-Switch clusters also purchase the Advanced Installation Service.
