SANRAD Mourns Passing of First VP R&D and Chief Technology Officer Gadi Erlich
Nearly nine years ago, Gadi joined the small group of entrepreneurs who had founded SANRAD to bring the revolutionary message of Ethernet based storage to the world. Gadi quickly made an immeasurable impact on SANRAD products and direction, leading the development team that brought to market the world's first commercial iSCSI SAN storage. Gadi's extensive knowledge and experience in system development and software product life cycle guided the way for all at SANRAD. His legacy and impact has left a lasting fingerprint on a whole new generation of storage devices and technology.
Beyond his expertise, Gadi will always be remembered for his natural ability to instill comradeship and team spirit even at the hardest of times. Throughout his own battle for health, he never failed to find time to listen to and assist the many that came for consul and guidance. His leadership as well as his helping hand will sourly be missed.
Prior to joining SANRAD, Gadi worked for seventeen years at National Semiconductor-Israel in a senior technical management position, leading the engineering departments. He was responsible for managing the software group developing various real-time embedded applications and development tools. In his last position at National Semiconductor Israel, Gadi was a director of the system technology and architecture group, responsible for defining system-on-chip solutions (for example NSC Geode soc), RISC processors and future products roadmap (in particular the definition of the company's security roadmap).
Gadi held a wide knowledge in a vast number of technical areas including system architecture, processor architecture, compilers and development tools, operating systems, DSP and embedded Real-Time and security applications. During his time at NSC and SANRAD, Gadi submitted numerous leading edge patents in the areas of systems, storage and processor architecture (some of them accepted and some pending approval).
Gadi graduated with his B.Sc. Cum Laude from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He held an MBA Suma Cum Laude from the Recanati School of Management,
With his wife Sarah, he raised three children, at their Hadar Am home.
We at SANRAD are incredibly fortunate to have had Gadi as a key leader and contributor in our team. He was an inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed.
